Episode 01

The first time I got sick — and what fifteen years of being a patient taught me about the system.

I built the site I couldn’t find.

I had a heart attack at 42 — no risk factors, no warning. It wasn’t my first chronic illness, and it wouldn’t be my last. Three years ago, my in-laws moved in with us, and I learned a second kind of navigating: caregiving for aging parents while still managing my own health and career.

After fifteen years as a patient and three as a caregiver, I had files of notes, scripts for doctor visits, appeal templates, Medicare worksheets, and a quiet collection of the things no one ever told me. Anyway Life is where I share them — for anyone learning to live fully when health doesn’t cooperate.

Life doesn’t pause for illness.
Neither does the world.

Travel with a chronic illness isn’t reckless — it’s a skill. Pacing, prep, packing lists, accessibility, medication logistics, the right insurance, and the quiet confidence that you can still go.

The only time I had ever been in the hospital was to give birth. And then, suddenly,…

  • Is this a TikTok Diagnosis?

I had a heart attack in 2023. At 42 years old. Young, by healthcare standards. I wasn’t diabetic. I didn’t have high blood pressure. I didn’t have high cholesterol. I didn’t have a family history of heart disease. There was nothing about my profile that suggested this should happen. And then it did. The Speed…
